  12. I am not sure if I should be writing to this address for help.  Please bear wwith
  13. me.  We have just installed TeX.  I am very new to this so perhaps I will not
  14. make any sense.....

  16. PROBLEM:  When typing the command 'dvips syllabus.dvi', the message I see
  17. on the system is:

  19. Running MakeTeXPK cmbx12 300 300 magstep(0.0) CanonCX
  20. /usr/local/tex/cmfonts/pk/cmbx12.300pk already exists!

  23. I understand that this message should not appear... the file is printed correctly and seems like it is working... but in talking to one of the faculty member,
  24. I understand that if the font is already there, the system should just display

  26. <tex.pro>. [3] [2] [1] and print the file.....

  28. In looking at the documentation, I feel that maybe the path somewhere needs to
  29. be set correctly.  The TeX is installed in /usr/local/tex....
